Most people scoff at The Living Daylights but I absolutely LOVED that movie when I was a kid and the Aston Martin featured as Bond’s car was so fucking cool.

I didn’t scoff. I thought Dalton was a wonderful Bond in that movie. I was looking forward to a bright future for the franchise with him, but he only did one more, which wasn’t as good.

I still heat up when I see that car.

Off-dim-flicker is a totally acceptable arrangement for a headlight switch.

Dalton is easily the most divisive Bond. People e ither really love him or hate him. TLD was obviously written for Moore and LTK feels more like a standalone Action Movie (yet for many it is a top 5 Bond film).

I could be wrong but I thought I saw that they actually wanted P ierce Brosnan for the Dalton flicks but he was busy with Remington Steel. Dalton was runner up until Brosnan was free for Goldeneye. I really liked Dalton though too. Pierce is my number 1 and Dalton is number three in my rankings

That’s the one where he teams up with Bin Laden’s buddies, haha
(Despite that, I liked that movie too)

In my mind, Moore, although still effective, had gotten away from the grit that Bond originally had. I felt Dalton started to get back to that a little. I also remember I liked his chemistry with Maryam d’Abo.

The earlie st variant of that shape was seen in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service:
Which is probably my favorite Bond movie. with the even more divisive George Lazenby in the title role, and to me what has always been a terribly sad ending.

AFAIK the producers approached Dalton to replace Connery way back in 1969 for OHMSS, but he turned the part down due to his age.

Dalton had stated that he wanted to stay very faithful to the original Books.
